Common questions

How do I back up my contacts?

Open Settings (the gear on Home) → Backup. MyBC backs itself up once a day when “Back up automatically” is on, and you can tap Back up now at any time. Each backup holds every record, photo, card scan and attachment.

Where are my backups?

In the Files app: iCloud Drive → MyBC. If iCloud Drive isn't available, they are under On My iPhone → MyBC. The last ten are kept.

How do I move MyBC to a new iPhone?

Install MyBC on the new iPhone from the App Store — it's free to download again with the same Apple Account. Then open Settings → Backup and tap the latest backup to restore it. If you restored the whole phone from an iCloud Backup, your contacts are already there.

A scanned card put something in the wrong field.

You always see the fields before saving: tap any field to change it. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence an on-device model sorts the card; other iPhones use a built-in parser that is reliable for phone numbers, emails and websites and a little less so for names.

How do I bring my contacts from another app?

Export them from the old app as CSV, Excel or vCard, then open Settings → Bring contacts in. You check the column mapping and the possible duplicates before anything is added.

Dictation doesn't work in my language.

Open Settings → Dictation and choose the language. Most languages are recognised on the iPhone; a few need an internet connection because Apple's speech service handles them.

Reminders, Calendar or Contacts access is off.

Open the iPhone's Settings → MyBC and switch on the access you want. Each one is optional, and MyBC works without them.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

More answers are in the FAQ on the home page. How MyBC handles your data is set out in the privacy policy.
